What is the Color Palette From Image?

Color Palette From Image is a free color palette generator. Upload any photo, logo or 3D render and it finds up to six main colors as HEX codes you can copy in one click. It is made for designers, interior and 3D artists and brand owners, and it runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.

Why pull colors from an image

A client sends a mood photo and says “make it feel like this”. The fastest way to match that feeling is to use the same colors. This tool reads the photo and gives you the main colors as HEX codes.

Using the palette in 3D and design

In 3ds Max or Blender, use the codes for walls, fabrics and accents. In Canva or Photoshop, add them to your brand colors. A good interior usually has one main neutral, one or two supporting tones and one small accent color.

Your image stays on your device

The image is read inside your browser. It is not sent anywhere, so you can use client files safely.

Questions people ask

Is my image uploaded?

No. Everything runs in your browser. The image never leaves your device.

How many colors does it find?

Up to six main colors, with very similar shades merged together.

Can I use this for brand colors?

Yes. Upload a logo or brand photo and copy the HEX codes into your design tool.

How to use this tool

  1. Press Choose an image and pick a photo, render, logo or mood image from your device.
  2. The tool shows a preview and finds up to six main colors in the image.
  3. Click any color swatch to copy its HEX code, for example #1F3B73.
  4. Paste the code into 3ds Max, Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva or your website builder.
  5. Want a different set? Try a cropped version of the image that shows only the area you care about.

When to use it

Use it when a client sends a reference photo, when you need brand colors from a logo, or when you want your Pinterest pins and thumbnails to match a render. It is also handy for checking that the walls, fabric and accent colors in your interior scene work together.

A quick tip: a palette from a photo is a starting point. Real paint and fabric look different under different light, so check the colors in your final render too. For warm and cool light colors, try the Kelvin to RGB Converter.

Tip: if the palette picks up too much of a background, crop the image so the main subject fills most of the frame, then upload it again.

More questions

Why do I get fewer than six colors?

Very similar shades are merged into one, so simple images give fewer colors.

Does it work with screenshots and renders?

Yes. Any image your browser can open, like JPG, PNG or WebP, works.

Can it find the exact paint color of a wall?

It gives the color as it appears in the photo. Lighting and camera settings change that, so treat it as a close match, not an exact paint code.

Is this tool free?

Yes. It is free, with no signup and no limit on how many images you check.
