Hard 3D and AI terms, each explained in 2 simple lines.
The 3D / AI Dictionary is a free, searchable glossary for beginners in 3D rendering and AI art. It explains terms like GI, HDRI, denoiser, seed, prompt and inpainting in two short, plain-English lines each. Type a word to find it fast, then try the related tools to see the term in action.

Turning a 3D scene into a final image or video on the computer.
The render engine for 3ds Max that calculates light the way it works in the real world.
Light bouncing off walls and objects and spreading through the whole room.
A 360° photo that gives the scene real lighting and reflections.
Grainy dots in a render, caused by low sampling.
A tool that cleans up render noise using AI or math.
A camera setting for how bright or dark the image is.
An image applied to a surface, like a wood or marble pattern.
The way a texture is laid out correctly on a 3D model.
An image that shows small surface detail (roughness) without changing the model.
The small flat pieces that make up the shape of a 3D model.
Adding more polygons to make a model smoother.
The object in focus stays sharp and the background is blurred.
The V-Ray window where the render appears and you correct the color.
The written instruction you give an AI about what to make.
The number behind an AI image. The same seed gives a similar result again.
The ratio of an image’s width to its height, like 16:9 or 9:16.
Making a small image bigger and more detailed.
Using AI to change only one part of an image.
Making a video with AI by typing what you want.
Do not try to memorize the whole list. Learn a term when you meet it in real work. If your render is grainy, read Noise and Denoiser, then try the fix. If an AI image keeps changing, read Seed and Prompt. Using a word once in a real project teaches more than reading it ten times.
The terms cover two worlds: 3D rendering in 3ds Max and V-Ray, and AI image and video tools. Many ideas overlap. Light, exposure and aspect ratio matter in both.
Start with Render, Texture, Exposure and Prompt. These four words explain most of what happens in a 3D or AI project.
Yes, terms will be added when they come up in my tutorials and tools.
Yes. Render Doctor shows the cause and the fix for common render problems like noise, dark rooms and burned highlights.
