This month I reorganized abiddigitalworks.com as a personal brand site: one menu, clean pages, and content that can bring in visits from Google. This note is a plain account of that process, what worked and what problems came up.
Key takeaways
- Write down what the site is for before you build any pages.
- Remove hosting demo content before it stays published.
- After a theme change, check every page live for double titles and odd URLs.
- Only publish real rates and numbers; otherwise send people to WhatsApp.

Plan first, then build
First I wrote down what the site is for: a home base for my brands, AI experiments, services and free tools. Only then did I build the pages. That way, every page already had its place.
What went wrong
- The demo content that came with the hosting had trading products and a second homepage, which did not fit the purpose of my site. I had to remove them.
- The title showed up twice on every page: once from the theme and once from my content. I caught this after changing the theme.
- The Privacy Policy URL became
/privacy-policy-2/because the default WordPress page had already taken that name.

Biggest lesson
A theme switch can break small things you never see in the editor. Open every page on the live site after the change.
What I learned
- After switching to a new theme, check every page live.
- Check demo content before it stays published, or it sends the wrong message.
- Only write rates and numbers when they are real. Otherwise “message me on WhatsApp” is better.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why did my WordPress page URL end with -2?
WordPress adds “-2” when a page with the same slug already exists. In my case the default Privacy Policy page had already taken /privacy-policy/.
Why does my page title show twice?
The theme printed the title and my page content had its own title too. After changing the theme, check every page live and remove one of them.
